Geigerport
History
There is evidence that the region of Geigerport had a bustling naval society even during the Gilded Age, although few written records remain. In early history, the seafaring humans, the dwarves of the mountains and the wood elven tribes congregated on the riverlands and formed a nation that went by various names, such as Bablys and Gygar. This nation had trade with the underwater nations and the early settlers of the modern-day Freeisles. The leaders of this nation started to be called Sea-Kings for their influence over the surrounding sea. After The Fellstar struck the world, orcish refugees flooded the southern peninsula, which had been invaded by raiders of orcish descent earlier in history (which contradicts The Order's claims that orcs are humans, elves and dwarves mutated by the chaos unleashed by the meteor strike). The orcs established the magocracy of Khal Baraam to the south, where they worshipped the four Elemental Gods and harnessed the elements against their enemies. This prompted the Sea-Kings of Geigerport to form the Origo Fleet, a naval army like no other, which halted the advance of the orcish hordes. The fighting never stopped, however. During the Ashen Age, the people of Geigerport started to worship the northern sun goddess Politia Palladion as their main deity, as she was promised to break the persistent clouds of ash and bring warmth to people again. The Obergeiger Monastery was built in her name. A young girl whose skin and hair flared like the sun was brough there, for her appearance frightened her family. This peculiar girl grew up as a nun whose bold words lit the flame of faith in the hearts of those who heard her. She became a prophet of the goddess and gained the name of Saint Rahel. Her influence over the people was so great that it made the last Sea-King, Bertrand the Lesser, abdicate his throne and give it over to The Order. As years went by, The Order began to suppress all other faiths, including that of the orcs. This caused a great war to spread throughout Chronan, and the orcs and goblinoids of southern Geigerport were among the first to join the so-called "Forces of Chaos" that opposed the ruling religion. Even after the battle of Czenova which decimated the entire state and was said to end the war, the remainder of the orcish and goblinoid people kept pushing back, suffering greatly for it. It wasn't until High Shaman Zaroum Karsht of Khal Baraam declared a truce in the year 359 of the Steaming Age that the bloodshed ended. Khal Baraam was annexed into Geigerport, and all temples of the faith of the four Elemental Gods were abandoned or turned into those of the lawful gods. The goblinoids agreed to stay in the Donnerstark Desert to guard it in exchange for freedom. This was the cost of peace.
