Dragon Gods

Dragons are independent and self-indulgent creatures, but even they follow some common customs. Among these is belief that there used to be three great Dragon Gods. According to draconic myths, the universe was created by a pair of dragons: Drax Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, and Dracia Tiamat, the Pentarch Dragon. Few dragons revere them anymore, but there are cults of dragonborn and koboldsthat do.
The masculine Platinum Dragon represented the forces of good and order, while the feminine, five-headed Pentarch Dragon was said to be evil and chaotic. Dragons believe both forces are necessary in the world, although the metallic dragons lean more towards benevolence and the chromatic dragons more towards tyranny and greed.
Together the pair had a child: Draic Sardior, the Ruby Dragon with no gender. Their task was to act as an equilibrium between their parents. However, the two elder dragons got into an argument, and accidentally killed their only child. In draconic myths, Draic Sardior's body was shattered into millions of shards that flew into the world, giving birth to the gem dragons. Only his rubine heart remained, floating in space.
The enraged Drax Bahamut accused his partner for the death, and locked Dracia Tiamat into the depths of Hell. The Platinum Dragon himself vanished from the world, leaving their dragon followers to their own devices.
In the Gilded Age, five chromatic Greatwyrms rose around the world, claiming themselves as the new dragon gods. The red Xizathot was worshipped as such by the Tephra culture in Brimstone Island Island, as was the blue Khordaganna in Horaeus (modern day Gardenoor) in the Hourglass Desert. Less is known about the three other Greatwyrms, but scholars claim they each had some type of following.
Lately, foreign raiders called the Rubine Reavers have approached the continent of Chronan, with gem dragonborn leading them. They seem to believe that The Fellstar was actually Draic Sardior's heart launching into the world, signalling the rebirth of of the Ruby Dragon and the restoration of balance and prosperity, if only the pieces are brought together.
