Eldonians

Eldonians are an ethnic group of people, mostly residing in the Kingdom of Eldonia and its (former) colonies. Commonly spoken languages by people of this ethnicity are Eldonish and Firthish, which is the language of the Firthian sub-ethnicity which sees its origin in a combination of the Eldonians and Sørsk ethnic groups.

Ethnic Abilities - Eldonians

When designing a character, a player chooses positive and negative ethnic abilities of equal value. Custom suggestions are possible upon approval by the GM. Mixed ethnicity abilities can be custom designed as well.
 
Since all characters are human, you are always Adaptable: Humans begin play with any Novice Edge of their choosing. They must meer its Requirements as usual.
 
Typical Eldonian characteristics are:
Strong (2): Eldonians generally have a set of broad and strong shoulders on them. They start with a d6 Strength instead of a d4. This increases maximum Strength to d12+1.
Hardy (2): Eldonians don't give up easily. A second shaken result in combat does not cause a wound.
Woolen Coat (1): There are many more woolen coats than Eldonians within the Kingdom's borders so nobody will go cold. You receive a +4 bonus to resist the negative effects of cold. Damage from cold sources is also reduced by 4.
Educated (1): Access to education is a right of every Eldonian citizen. One specialization of the Academics trait starts at d4.
Tough (1): Eldonians are a tough breed. Toughness is increased by +1.
Racial Enemy (-1): From the early days of colonization, Eldonians saw conflict with local natives. Many have lost family or property at the hands of savage natives. Others have suffered their raids themselves. The Winoni are your Racial Enemy. You subtract 2 from Persuasion when dealing with them and may become hostile with little provocation.
Damned Pirates (-1): Pirates from the Maridara Confederacy have been targeting Eldonian ships for literally centuries now. Little Eldonians can imagine a greater enemy. The Maridians are your Racial Enemy. You subtract 2 from Persuasion when dealing with them and may become hostile with little provocation.
Summer Stroke (-1): While many Eldonians do thrive in cold, many do not in heat. You suffer a -4 bonus to resist the negative effects of heat. Damage from heat sources add an extra 4 damage.
Child of Luxury (-1): With thriving trade and increasing industrialization, there is little need to learn to live off the land. All Survival rolls suffer a -1 penalty.
Ranged Warriors (-1): With firearms being the new standard in combat, Eldonians no longer learn to dodge a fist, sword or club. You suffer a -1 to your Parry.
