Signoria of Grivour

Sovereign Signoria of Belcour   Ruled by Dame Grimhild Graeme   In the shadowed streets of Vienstadt, Dame Grimhild Graeme rules with a scholar’s wit. Draped in robes ink-stained and moth-eaten, she presides over a city of archivists, occultists, and keepers of Belcoursian memory. The Signoria of Grivour clings to old rites and forbidden studies, thumbing its nose at the provincial Church of Dhara. Grimhild herself is pale and severe, her thin fingers often inked with glyphs from her latest experiment. She despises Vontessa Baudelaire’s alliance to the Joint Armistice Lands, viewing it as cultural erasure meant to bury Belcour’s heritage. Her people whisper that she keeps the bones of her enemies cataloged among her scrolls, and though Grivour’s army is small, their knowledge of curses and forbidden arts makes them dangerous foes. To the Baudelaires, Grivour is a festering reminder that their power rests on fragile ground.
