Seawatch Sentry

A Seawatch Sentry stands on the reef-edge, saltwater dripping from coral-filigreed armour, breath held beneath lapping waves and gulltossed wind. Off the coast of Nidus, she watches for threats borne on foam: pirate sails, storm-born raiders, or winged beasts cutting low over tide. Her eyes, sharp as cut shell, scan the horizon and the dark line where sea meets sky: no ripple escapes her notice, no shadow passes her sentinel.   In moonlight, she becomes part of the reef—silent silhouette on a rocky outcrop, her presence both warning and protection. When danger draws near, her cry echoes across kelp forests and reef channels; Argonauts dive down, others rush the cliff-paths, guided by her signal.
