Nidus

Nidus is land of dense magic and woodland fae who have been taken advantage of by foreign mages. The region is divided into three natural regions, the salty coast, the arid plains ad the dense woodlands.   From the riverboats that dock at Highperch, merchants first see the province as a market of timber and spice, lantern-light spilling across restless waters. A half day inland the hills sag into Burrowbreek, where clay chimneys lean against each other like tired shoulders and the smell of stew and clay wraps around travellers thicker than any feathered cloak. Beyond, where the canopy darkens and the air tastes of moss, lies Nestholm, where homes stand grafted into living trees and voices lower to match the forest’s hush.   Nidus is a country within the Manastrife Union, a Magocratic Empire who streches its grasp amongst the Western continent of Miziyak. It encompasses diverse provinces such as Burrowbreek, Highperch, and Nestholm. The region is characterized by its varied landscapes, ranging from grasslands and cliffs to coastal areas and forested hills.   The region is also home to factions like the Windriders, a small rebellion of larger Hollowbones, and the Seawatch, a coastal defense organization made up of Mer Aelves. Nidus plays a significant role in the broader political and cultural dynamics of the region.   Many of the smaller bird fae who make this region their home have been forced to collect Essence from deep within each province to send the resource back to the Manastrife Union. Essence is then used to magically imbue weapons and armour or by mages of the Union crafting spells and elixirs to please their High Priestess.
