Nestholm
Central island home to the Hollowbones
In the ancient forests of Nestholm, village spires rise like green embers amid silvered treetops. Here, the timber is spoken of softly—just as the songs sung beneath moonlit boughs. Wood-cutters carry aelven saws dusty with pollen; bark-cracked healers tend to wounds with sap mend. Nestholm is alive in its whispering, not its shouts; an old-world haven where tradition and nature trace each other’s origin.
Nestholm is a place of dotted settlements disconnected by vast swaths of wooded weald.
Among these settlements is Gomo, a small village located near a cascading waterfall. The birdfolk inhabitants have ingeniously harnessed the power of the falls, utilizing water wheels and channels for various tasks. The constant sound of flowing water serves as a calming backdrop amidst the island's growing tensions.
Another notable settlement is Gowumokale, a medium-sized town encircled by a dense thicket of whispering pines. The town's infrastructure is primarily wooden, intertwined with the trees, reflecting a deep connection with nature. Gowumokale is known for its seasonal festival, where birdfolk sing harmonious songs in sync with the rustling leaves, celebrating the changing seasons.
At the heart of Nestholm lies Fort Unity, a strategic military installation situated near the settlement of Newnest. Fort Unity serves as a symbol of the Manastrife Union’s strength and power, playing a crucial role in maintaining peace and order in the region.
