Coris
The Ward of Coris is a powerful, mercantile state in central Erask, with a long history of shipbuilding. The more temperate north is blanketed in the Skyward Forest, an ancient wood stretching from the coast into the mountains. Mount Corian, the highest mountain in Erask, lies almost at the centre of Coris.
Formerly a part of Longharrow, the influence of a significant population of Secondborn and giant-kin led the dragonborn of the region to join a popular movement to declare independence under the leadership of the Dragonsworn, a pan-lineal faction promoting the worship of a pantheon of draconic gods. The leaders of Coris' major cities continue to bind pacts with these 'new dragons', much to the anger of their Longharran neighbours.
- Timberton in the north of the ward is the primary shipyard and naval port. The Commodore of Timberton is sworn in for a ten year term using the form of a pact with the Blue Dragon Captain of Billowed Sails.
- Gulleton, in the belly of the coastal curve, is the central trading port of the ward. The Mayor of Gulleton serves a three year term, always wearing the chain of office which represents the city's bond with the Green Dragon Quartermaster of Laden Holds.
- Sollen, on the warm luminal coast, is a centre for tourism and the home of many wealthy merchants. Its high status population have little truck with being governed, and so choose one of their number to act as the First Citizen of Sollen for five years, bearing the weight of the civic pact with the Black Dragon Purser of Shimmering Coin
- Acora, the capital of Coris, is built in the foothills of the Weeping Mountains, under the towering slopes of Mount Corian. Using the bouyant wood of the Skyward Forest's cloudcatcher ash trees, Acora is the centre of the ward's Skywrighting industry. The city and region are under the authority of the High Chandler, whose five year term is sanctified by the White Dragon Pilot of Clear Winds. Acora is also the seat of the High Warden of Coris, head of state and sacred mouthpiece of the Red Dragon Singer of Divine Harmony.
