Bugbears
The Secondborn of Tet are the bugbears. Called the Soilborn, they are taller than many orcs, but rangy and spare-framed with long limbs. They have short, wiry fur all over their bodies, ranging from light tan to black to ginger and often patterned with stripes, spots or patches. They have long jaws and prominent canine teeth, long tufted ears and large, orange or yellow eyes. They are noted for moving either very slowly or with explosive speed, with little in between the two. They grow an mature fast, and the average bugbear has between two and five children in their life. Barring incident, they can live to be almost a hundred years old, but very few of them live to old age.
Between the dragonborn, Orcs, Hobgoblins and giant-kin, the bugbears have never found a niche for themselves on Erask. Those bugbears who do not live a rural subsistence lifestyle tend to fall into urban poverty. There are no large bugbear cultures, while the largest concentrations live in the northern wildernesses.
