Ares Incorporated
Currently the largest supplier of military goods, Ares Inc. started out as a one-man company focused on supplying militias and rebellions who couldn't directly buy in bulk from larger companies. It was founded by a man who simply referred to himself as Ares, which didn't bother his clients at the time. He quickly established himself as the go-to guy for acquiring large amounts of weapons without the problems that often came with using smugglers for that purpose.
The company quickly grew over the next few years, expanding its business over larger and larger territories. A big breakthrough came when they landed a contract for the Sargon Grand Army when the army's own supply lines failed and Ares Inc. managed to supply them fast and efficiently. With that contract, they entered the big league and soon made lucrative contracts with all the big players.
Shortly after that, they started to closely collaborate with some of the most well-known weapons manufacturers like Haven Heavy Industries, Taneer Naval Engineering and Byzan Armaments. They prospered and soon found themselves first picks on almost any contract and could pick and choose whom they wanted to work with without worrying about lost business opportunities. Although tightly collaborating they were still independent companies though and Ares Inc. tried to pressure its partners into merging together to become a unified company on a never before seen scale, however, all attempts of Ares to merge remained fruitless and he soon gave up.
A few years later though everything changed. As was regular all the big companies had gone through changes in leadership over the last few years, but that year had been particularly rough as almost every company had to fire some of their leaders due to scandals or in other cases leaders were murdered or had disappeared. Tensions were high and Ares demanded the companies to merge and some even considered it, but the big players within the collaboration didn't agree. The CEO of Haven Heavy Industries even went as far as to accuse Ares of having staged all the recent changes in leadership. Days later he was found dead. Another merge was proposed and this time it came to vote with the condition that if the vote failed there would be no more talk about this topic and Ares would have to step down as leader of his company. The leaders of the biggest companies had met before the day before though and had already agreed to let it come to a vote and let it fail to get rid of Ares. They had an easy 82% majority on their side and even if a good chunk of their leaders suddenly disappeared they still had enough voting power to throw out Ares.
However, the vote didn't fail. Ares proposal to merge won and not even by a small margin but with a solid 60%. There were furious discussions within each company and loyalties were questioned, but the discussions ended quickly. In the next meeting to finalize the merge only a handful of people showed up and all signed over complete control to Ares. From one day to the other Ares Inc. had suddenly become a giant mega-corporation with enough power to potentially overthrow the council on some regions by simply cutting their supplies. But the only response from the council was the official announcement of the new red king, Delan Le Berre.
As it turned out, Ares and Delan had been the same person and he had used his powers to infiltrate the other big companies. Over years he had clones of himself that had undergone cosmetic surgery work themselves up to leadership positions and when the day finally came they voted for him and after that took care of all remaining resistance against the merge within their own companies.
Today Ares Inc. is the direct supplier of the Council Gods and the biggest producer of military supplies.
