Godking

Godkings are considered the strongest Gods as recognized by the Council of Gods. The number of Godkings has varied greatly over the centuries, but since the rule of the Supreme One it has been steadily at 3. The Godkings are evenly distributed on the Essence color spectrum. This means that there is one king for the blue/violet end of the spectrum, one king for the green/yellow middle of the spectrum and the last one for the orange/red end of the spectrum.

Historically, before the takeover of the Supreme One, the Godkings had more fixed members. A blue king, red king, yellow king, white king and black king were the essential members that were present throughout history. The titles were fought out during a god war and remained with the respective colors, causing a lot of controversy and the formation of the 7 Dragons. Common additions to these 5 Godkings were gold and silver kings, a grey or multicolored king. Green, orange, violet and such colors never got their own Godking Title though which is believed to have been a reason why the system ultimately collapsed in its historical form.

The Godkings are chosen by popular vote by the council, but then still have to prove themselves through a multitude of trials. Any god can challenge the godkings position and overtake it but has to complete the trials first as to not waste the time of a Godking. A Problem often seen with the system is that gods that actively distance themselves or oppose the council cannot obtain the position and therefore many of the strongest gods have historically not been godkings. However, to the public, the Godkings are the strongest gods and they are not weak by any means and mainly serve to uphold the council's image.
