Lady of the Deep Lake

Lady of the Deep Lake

The Lady of the Deep Lake is a deity residing, as the name suggests, in the Deep Lake outside of Deep Lake City. In academic circles there is some argument whether she is truly a deity, or merely a spirit of considerable strength. Regardless of what The Lady is, she is ancient, having existed since before the modern Pantheon of Gods. The Lady of the Deep Lake appears before those who have spent at least an hour in the waters of the Deep Lake, which is always shrouded in fog. Like a shared hallucination she appears, walking on the water, in a Victorian-era ballgown, and sits next to the bather. She listens silently as they explain what's going on in their life, offering no judgement, and no suggestions. Merely an ear to listen to your troubles. On the rare occasion she speaks, it is only to the truly remarkable few out there. Throughout history, she has been known to act only a few times. For example, the time she created the black water stilettos, which have been lost to the ages.
