Holidays
Moon Festival
Lune 1
On this day, even when Lusaris is not set to be full, the moon mysteriously becomes bright and full, the largest of the year. Those who revel in chaos and mischief make delightful work of this lesser known holiday. There are no common festivals despite the name, but those who worship Mirage show their dedication to her by doing pranks or even partaking in petty thievery. There are also some, known as the Moon Dancers, who go into the night when the moon is highest and perform Mirage's seductive Dance of the Moon, a strangely compelling and arcane movement that is meant to bring good luck upon the dancer. These dances are usually followed by wild arcane ceremonies, orgies, and anything else chaotic beneath the brightness of Lusaris.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Goddess of illusions, moonlight, and night, Mirage's worshipers embrace a free lifestyle, intent on the pursuit of their passions and the creation of new and enlightening experiences. She is regaled among halflings and elves, and her worshipers see her as a patron of lust and fertility, protecting trysts between lovers. Tricksters and mischief-makers also call on Mirage for protection in the shadows.
Many healers ask for Mirage's aid. As a crusher of destiny and seeker of untethered life, Mirage reaches those on death's doorstep with delight, content on disrupting Lyssras natural balance.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
The Moon Dancer is often depicted as a beautiful elven woman with short black hair and vibrant, pale green eyes. Her skin shimmers and changes various pale shades across the rainbow spectrum and she has very pointed ears. Her clothing also shifts and changes, though she is sometimes depicted completely nude. She is usually portrayed holding her Staff of Mirages and more often than not, she is showered in moonlight and surrounded by creatures that take refuge in the night, such as owls and foxes.
Similar to Bevara, Mirage has also become somewhat well-known as a goddess of lust and fertility, and some temples portray her in more lewd expressions and positions, occasionally with Mirage and Bevara embracing.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Mirage was a beautiful dancer among the early elven tribes and did not know she was a changeling until much later in her life. She loved all aspects of nature, but also found great joy in trickery and mischief, a connection to her true lineage in the Feywild. It was her mischief and creativity that captured Sehanine's eye, and Sehanine chose Mirage as her Champion.
Mirage used her holy weapon--the Staff of Mirages, for which she renamed herself--during the War for Creation to cast illusions on the monstrosities of the Corrupt Gods and to lead them astray. She was integral in the distraction that allowed the Creators to come together for their sacrifice.
When Mirage ascended, she was not concerned with the mortal squabbles of the other Champions and she managed to remain mostly neutral in the pantheon. Her love for Bevara, however, would become somewhat of a controversy within the Champions, mostly with Lorena who felt their bond would be too powerful.
In the Divine Wars, Mirage is believed to have had a hand in attempting to keep Lyssras from breaking her curse, concerned that unbound, Lyssras would inadvertently unleash the dead. Since Lyssras was able to break the curse with Domini's assistance, it is believed Mirage was unsuccessful in her attempts, though her concerns did not come to fruition.
