The Greatest Party in the World
Summary
On a midsummer day in the midst of a wave of heat, the air was so hot and dry that even the gods themselves complained. There was a drought, and there wasn't enough water because Sam was away on a journey. The other gods convened, and decided that something must be done. They decided that Pyne should solve this problem, because she could produce wine to drink. Pyne agreed, and caused the rivers, lakes, and wells to flood with wine, granting everyone a much-needed drink.
Pyne's wine is special. It is divine in its potency, and all who drink even a sip find themselves joyously intoxicated no matter their weight. All of the Slightlands erupted in delighted festival, and joined together to party. Krok was furious, but could not resist the allure for long. Fan, Aya, and Pyne joined drunken hands and travelled the land in a great caravan with a host of drunk mortals. Much merriment was made, many children were conceived, and entire towns were destroyed in their revelry. By the end of it a month later when Sam returned and brought water with him, the three of them were face down and vomiting in an alley, a mortified Braid caring for them and scaring curious mortals away.
Every year since, the mortals of the Tursp Slightlands have declared the Month of Wyne, a festival of drunkenness when the regulations of life are relaxed and wine is celebrated.
