The Wardens
The Wardens are the primary internal enforcement and political suppression arm of the Council of Commanders . Directly overseen by Commander Harrison Kane , the Wardens function as an elite, heavily centralised force tasked with maintaining ideological compliance and eliminating threats to Council authority. They are not a civilian police force. They are not bound to standard procedural limitations.
They are distinct from regular station security and military personnel in both structure and mandate. The Wardens respond to dissent, surveillance anomalies, subversion, and resistance operations. They are deployed in sensitive political incidents, high-risk suppressions, and covert removals.
Recruitment
Chosen from top-performing security officers, military graduates, or direct referrals from the Council or Intelligence sectors. Backgrounds are vetted extensively.
There are multiple psychological tests, loyalty screening, simulations for moral strain exposure ad classified operations assessment.
The training lasts 18 months and it includes combat training, subversion handling, political theory and counter-propaganda.
Uniform and Equipment
In design, it's matte black body suit with reinforced plating over chest, arms, and legs. Unmarked, no personal identifiers. Every person has a full-face black visors with internal data link to Watcher feeds and facial recognition overlays. The Wardens bare an insignia; a single triangle on left breast for all ranks. Rank is indicated only through internal ID, not visible to civilians.
Standard Issue
Weapon: Smart-locked 9mm handgun with facial bio-lock, quickdraw grip, and tracer round compatibility.
Rifle: Modular suppression rifle with semi-auto and stun pulse functionality.
Restraints: Compact magnetic binders that can be activated remotely by squad leads.
Device: W-Net encrypted tablet for accessing Watcher logs, facial recognition scans, detainee status, and live threat alerts.
Armour Enhancements: Shock-absorbent mesh, internal oxygen reserve (4 minutes), heat and IR suppression layer.
Advanced Systems:
Null-Fields: A recent technological development authorised by emergency decree. These portable emitters project a stabilised field that violently disrupts Weaving abilities within a fixed radius (approximately 10–15 metres).
On affected Weavers, it induces immediate disorientation, searing neurological pain, and, in most cases, involuntary collapse.
They are installed at high-traffic zones, chokepoints, protest-prone areas, and during Warden operations. Mobile variants are carried by suppression squads. May be manually activated or remotely triggered via W-Net. Units receive regular updates on Null-Field calibration.
Civilians are not typically warned of Null-Field presence, and exposure is used as a control mechanism.
Functionality
The Wardens are not assigned to routine patrols. Their movements are strategic and brief. When deployed, it signals a serious breach, a political threat, or a covert purge. They often operate in silence and avoid public notice when possible.
Collaboration with The Watchers
Wardens have direct uplink to Watcher surveillance feeds. They receive live alerts when a Watcher marks behaviour as anomalous. Wardens can issue override commands to Watchers to reclassify, reroute, or prioritise surveillance targets.
Upon Watcher data verification, Wardens may detain individuals without prior warrant. Watchers log all interactions automatically for internal review.

- Standard operators. Trained in tactics, interrogation, zero-tolerance enforcement.
- Initiates:
- Recruits in training or probationary placement. Closely monitored for ideological purity.
Public Agenda
Among the public, Wardens are associated with fear, disappearances, and political silencing. Unlike Security forces (who enforce standard law), Wardens exist to enforce ideological conformity and remove instability. Civilians do not usually see them unless under suspicion. Among Fortrop’s systems, they are considered essential to long-term survival and social control.
