Wyvern

While not as dominant as their Chimeric cousins, wyverns have proven to be among the most adaptable and widespread draconic species in Fanterath. Their two-legged, winged forms grant them exceptional mobility, allowing them to thrive in nearly every biome, from the highest mountains to the deepest jungles, scorching deserts, and vast coastlines.

Wyverns are as varied in behavior as they are in form, with each subspecies specializing in different hunting, scavenging, or symbiotic survival strategies. Some, like the Screamwing, are skyborne predators, using their superior speed and sonic cries to dominate the aerial food chain. Others, like the Ratwyve, have adapted to human settlements, thriving in port cities as vermin hunters and shipboard companions.

Wherever one travels in Fanterath, wyverns are never far—some stalking the clouds, others hiding in the underbrush, but all of them watching, waiting, and adapting. Their ubiquity makes them one of the most recognized and respected creatures of the world, whether as wild predators, trained hunters, or even symbols of fortune in certain cultures.

Though wyverns may lack the overwhelming power of Chimeric Dragons, their ingenuity, specialization, and resilience have ensured that no matter where one goes in Fanterath, a wyvern will already be there.
