History & Introduction
The tavern, known locally as The Bog was built shortly after Mirehollow’s founding. The structure was raised around the remnants of a sunken log hall and restored using salvaged clay bricks and timber from the surrounding fen. Its current keeper, a retired Blightbinder named Erwyn Mossgrip, turned it into a space of warmth and reflection. He opened the tavern not for profit, but to ensure that those venturing into the Witherwild had a final place of comfort before their journey—and a fire to return to if they made it back.
Appearance
External:
A two-story clay-brick building with a sloping moss-covered roof, crowned by a crooked chimney that exhales a steady stream of white smoke. The outer walls are damp with age and speckled with mushroom growth, especially near the old wooden door. Circular windows, uneven and mismatched, dot the façade, flickering with amber light from within. A woven reed mat lies at the entrance, soaked but dependable.
Internal:
Inside, the hearth dominates—built from bogstone and ever-warm with coals. Tables and chairs, uneven but lovingly hand-carved from fallen trees, fill the room in no particular pattern. The bar itself is the split heartwood of a massive ancient log, polished by time. Every mug is handmade by Erwyn—misshapen, artistic, each a small story. A single table always has an unfinished carving or fresh batch of clay drying nearby. Hammocks sway in the upstairs loft for those needing rest, while a simple private room houses Erwyn himself.

Notes
Quest Hook: Erwyn is always after different herbs, meats and vegetables, spices or anything he can cook with. He is always willing to trade for anyone willing to get him some supplies.
Oddity: One of the clay mugs hums slightly when touched, and no one knows why.
Rule: No songs about fire or burning are allowed. Erwyn becomes distant and quiet if pressed.
