The ANS Lissandra was the first of the Alwyn's newest Monarch-class Battleships which were ordered for the Alwynian Naval Service in 1888, but construction was not started until 1890, following the end of the Desh Interregnum War. The ship, like all her sisters, was named after queens of the Empire of Alwyn, with her name coming from the current monarch.   Ten of these behemoth battleships were ordered for service, but as of 1897, only six have been made as the newest ships incorporate and adapt to the changing tides and demands of war, as well as the installation and reconfiguration of new technologies which occur almost every year.   Her sister ships currently include the:
  • ANS Rhiannon
  • ANS Muirne
  • ANS Daerannis
  • ANS Cathach
  • ANS Gwendolyn
  • Power Generation

The ANS Lissandra is equipped with twin triple-expansion steam engines as well as 18 coal-fired water boilers along with 2 four-bladed bronze nautical screws.

    Weapons & Armament

The ANS Lissandra, as well as all her sister ships, are equipped with the latest and most updated arsenal of weapon in Northern Azora.   Its main batter possesses two twin turretted 45 caliber Mishannon Pattern guns on the fore and aft of the ship with a maximum range of 21 kilometers and loaded using shell cradles and hoists from underneath them to the magazine.

It also possesses secondary and tertiary batteries: Secondary Batteries include 4 twin broadside casemate guns at 50 caliber each and are primarily used to counter armored cruisers and other battleships from flanking.   Tertiary Batteries are some of the oldest guns, with them being primarily 10-12 1870 Houndsmuth naval 6 pounders and 3 pounders. These are largely used to anti-boarding and quick-firing positions.

    Armor and defense

The ANS Lissandra has a belt armor of roughly 9-12 inches of reinforced steel with 8 inch bulkheads that are used to provent flooding in case of sea mines and torpedos. Its decks are coated and insulated with various forms of alchemical sand to keep the fire spread dangers to a minimum, a relatively new innovation for navy ships.   The turrets and conning towers are also reinforced with 12 inch steel plates.
