Yaren

An isolated city state located to the east of Hepsut, ruled by the The Cabal of Yaren. The city is locked off from visitors with access only permitted on rare circumstances.
  Yaren is the rival city to Maran, both of whom survived the The Fall of Arcanum and both are governed by ancient mageocracies. Some even speculate that the city may have also formerly been one of the floating cities of Arcanum.
  Yaren is said to house a vast wealth of knowledge, containing vast libraries of ancient magical secrets thought lost to the Fall. Many scholars spend years attempting to get access to Yaren’s libraries.
  Helios and Hecate are both heralded as the Patron Gods of Yaren, with two prominent temples located within its walls.

Defence:

Yaren is defended by an elite militia of spellcasters known as the Spellblades.

Commerce: 

Yaren is self-sufficient and does not trade goods or wares.

Geography: 

The city is ancient in design, similar in appearance to the City of Maran. The city is built within large white walls of polished marble, decorated with beautiful mosaics depicting the history of the Sun Elves and the great mages of Yaren. Within its walls are a uniform collection of marble buildings, schools and libraries, all ordered in perfect concentric circles, leading to six large spires that rise out of the city's centre.
  It is said that the city is filled with beautiful art of all kinds, decorating the walls and streets.
