Helios - God of the Sun
Helios is the God of the Sun. They are a positive and energetic deity, constantly in motion.
They are usually found solitarily flying their chariot led by flaming horses across the sky.
Helios is the Twin of the Goddess Selene, their polar opposite. While the twins used to close they no longer have much of a relationship.
Helios is commonly worshipped by travellers, farmers and by specific cults.
Helios is commonly depicted as a young masculine figure, beardless with tanned skin and curly strawberry blond hair. They are sometimes depicted as feminine, with a radiant corona or with beautiful orange wings.
Summer Solstice - 30th of Héktos
At the summer solstice, the Sun travels the longest path through the sky, and that day therefore has the most daylight. It is also a religious day for the God of the Sun and the God of Fire, such as Helios and Hestia. On this day the people of Exorsia celebrate and make libations to these Gods. The Sun Elves of Hepsut celebrate this day as Helioméra.
Helioméra - 30th of Héktos
A traditional Sun Elf Holiday that is commonly celebrated in Hepsut. The Elven people practise ancient Elven rituals and performances from the days when the Sun Elves worshipped the sun god Helios. All in remembrance of the roots of the Elven People.
