Medea - The Witch
The Half-Elven granddaughter of Helios and the niece of Circe. She was a powerful witch and high-priestess of the goddess Hecate who lived during the Bronze Age.
Medea was a master of medicinal magic through the use of potions, herbs and poisons, magic that she used in great effect to slay her numerous enemies.
A largely tragic figure, Medea is best known for aiding an unnamed hero in acquiring the Golden Fleece, using her magic to enchant the Fleece’s protector, save the hero’s life and in the process killing her brothers. After fleeing her old home and wedding the hero she bore him two sons.
But it was not a happy relationship and after 10 years of marriage the hero abandoned Medea and her children to wed a younger higher station woman. Enraged at all she has sacrificed, Medea killed her children and the hero' s new bride, leaving him without an heir and ending his bloodline. His name remains undocumented as punishment.
Medea is then rescued by the aid of the Gods and flown to safety on the Chariot of Helios.
Medea would later become immortalised to serve at the side of Hecate.
Appearance
Medea is usually depicted as a Half-Elven woman, with light skin, long dark coloured hair and a somber expression. She often wields a ritual dagger and a cup either containing a magical remedy, or poison.
