Acheron - River of Pain
Acheron is the personification of one of the Rivers of the Underworld, alongside Kokytos, Lethe, Phlegethon and Styx. They are a morbid sadist who relishes in the pain of others, making the Fields of Punishment of great interest to them.
Acheron is one of the caretakers of the Underworld, assisting Hades and Persephone in the management of the Lands of the Dead. Acheron is mainly responsible for ferrying souls through the underworld, with the river Acheron being the main entrance to the Underworld, where the majority of souls are carried to the afterlife. Acheron also takes great enjoyment in coming up with creative punishments for those sentenced to the Fields of Punishment.
Like Chthonic Deities, due to Acheron’s association with the Underworld and death, they are rarely referred to by name, as it is believed it would call their attention. Therefore Acheron is almost always referred to by epithets, such as "The River of Pain".
Apperance:
Acheron is usually depicted as genderless, commonly as a pale white skinned figure with long, wet, white hair, long fingers and pale pink eyes. Archeron is almost exclusively depicted nude.
