"If you wish for my mercy and my charity then you will have to work for it. To the North of Strashya is a lost fiefdom which the Marshal is struggling to reclaim from an outbreak of ravenous fungus. The land has no owner yet, and no name, just the scattered remnants of first-wave habitats across tens of thousands of acres. We have taken to calling it the Thromboid Vale, after the mass growth of a very aggressive strain of Thromboid Fungus.
"You will need environment suits, a sealed-deck airship, and some reliable weapons. We're not sure what's out there, but there are reports of large figures in the mist, and groups smaller than five tend to go missing or be terribly waylaid by sudden overgrowth.
"We need you to check in on our forward base there. We had a 3-squad team out there, and haven't heard from them in several days. Get out there, restore the comms, and tell us what's happened.
