Tamiz

A legendary city off the coast of Beast island, which predates the founding of Salineas (0 BK). It is said to have been sunk by a huge creature: the Denzari. This name is derived from the Salinean words for Sea (Deniz) and Monstrous (Canavari). Tamiz remains beneath the waves, several hours under the surface.   It was famous for its purified water, cleansed by magic. Despite being located in a region surrounded completely by sea water, they were able to convert it into potable, fresh water.   A mural within the city displays the tale of what may be the first Water Princess.   It tells the story of Princess Sona. She was a beautiful young woman who dreamed of being a sailor. However she tragically drowned as a teenager. Her father, the King of the Sea (possibly a translation for a King of an older Salineas), used all of his mastery over water magic to try to save Sona. With the power of the seas, and the moons above, and all of Etheria herself, Sona developed a tail. Her lower half became that of a fish. Her hair turned green, and her eyes blue like the oceans themselves. Sona took a breath of water; very much alive and without struggle.   Sona swam through the oceans, controlled the waves, and she could purify any water she touched at will.   The mural goes on to show the incantation and components needed to be able to cast Purify Water.   The immediate area around the mural is a zone of pure water, as a powerful enchantment is still running to this day.
