Most people in Antar speak common. There are some phrases and expressions that are specific to the city.

• Snipe = derogatory insult "You little snipe."
• "Sump Sucker" = insult
• Uppside/topside = Upper Levels
• You ken? = You know?
• Gorram = expresses anger and frustration 

While known to be a notoriously dangerous and unsafe city, the citizens of Antar have a lot of pride for their city. The lack of authority and structure is something that the people have come to associate with freedom.    People value shows of strength. It is common to visibly carry weapons as you walk through the city. Signs of weakness or timidness invite attack.    It is customary to mind your own business. Even if a fight breaks out right in front of you, the people of Antar would expect you to commit to the idea that you saw nothing.    Gang rivalries are common around the city. You can find gang symbols graffitied and carved into streets and venues to mark territory. Those unaffiliated with a gang often don't need to worry about them, but be wary about being perceived taking a side.    The city does not appreciate outsiders, or outside ideas.

Keeping your weapons visible is considered polite.    Minding your own business is expected. It would be considered rude to greet or acknowledge strangers on the street.

Slop is a food made from water and crushed nutrients. The food is popular for being cheap and available, even in times of hardship.

Death is an unfortunate common place in Antar. Between the violence of the city and the pollution, very few live to old age.    The dead are often honored in quiet places that overlook parts of the city. It is customary to pour out a drink in their honor, as you toast to their memory.    Getting a tattoo in their memory is common as well.

After decades of facing the oppressive rule of the Horde, beauty standards in Antar express the city's values of non-conformity. Individualism is important to the people of the city.    Fashion ranges from conservative to outlandish. They display this through grunge and punk style clothes. Clothing is often practical. It is styled to show off cybernetics and augmentations, which are often left visible.    Many citizens have pink, blue, white, green, or other 'non-traditional' hair styles. Cybernetics and augmentations are popular and used to show strength.    Piercings are common for citizens. Multiple ear piercings, nose rings, and eyebrow piercings are common.    Tattoos are very popular and important to the people in Antar. Tattoos are chosen to display loyalty and gang affiliations, honor family and friends, and express your own personality. Many tattoos are done with UV-Reactive pigments to allow the tattoo to glow in the dark.

Courtship in Antar is often very direct. Subtly is not encouraged or appreciated.

Unlike in most of Etheria, relationships are not intended to last forever. Couples that are dating often do so as long as it is mutually beneficial, and if the relationship is no longer convenient, it usually ends.
