Allshadow Images Preservation Society

After the fall of Allshadow, in most places he had ruled over, all statues, pictures and other visual depictions of him were destroyed. A significant exception is in Kendar. The Sikendar people initially sided with Allshadow when he started his campaign against their enemies the Ancient Viri Empire; however, the Sikendar chose to preserve some of the depictions of Allshadow not because of support for him, but as a stark reminder of the mistake their people made in supporting him. This move was obviously deeply controversial, as is the organisation that was formed to maintain the items in question.   Most of these take the forms of paintings, which are hung in art galleries with contextual notes. However the biggest, most famous and most controversial is a statue which Allshadow had made of himself out of gold. It is located within a structure which was modelled to mock the Viri's temples, and gets many visitors.   Few non-Sikendar people really understand the meaning behind the society's purpose in preserving these items. Even within Kendar, the practise is a controversial one. Many feel that there are better ways to remember the mistakes of the past than to work to preserve objects which were created for the purpose of glorifying the most horrific tyrant in history. Members of the society, however, are deeply committed to their work, their convictions in the need to preserve the full picture as it was, not allowing the desire to either downplay the atrocities of Allshadow or downplay how alluring he was to affect how the items are preserved.
