The Wandering Watch Towers
Would you want to believe me when I speak of a Wandering Watch Tower?
Wrongly at first, if you were also moving, it would appear that the Watch Tower is stationary, which would make this a wholesome yet boring tale to write. However, it to would walk towards you. Iridescent lights like eyes within windows, which are worn like glasses' frames. The wandering Watch Tower has weak eyesight, so would want to get closer, to sight you more clear. It wonders who you are.
Well, there is not only one who wanders watchfully around the wide world of Esau. In fact, I have head whispers of a whole eight who walk within the wonderful world. Built from the materials 'taken' from The Plane of Wood, where only such a thing be produced. The sturdy Watch Tower had been commissioned by a party of adventurers, known as The Willow Kin Wanderers - who took in without consideration or pause.
When The Magic Burst went all throughout Esau the Wooden Watch Tower was hit directly. Walls of solid wood were washed by the wonderful burst of worldwide magic, the watch tower awoke. The single Watch Tower groan and torn. Without a clear direct to wander, it willed itself to split, first in two, then until four, and finally up to the eight.
Each chose a different direction. They are said to wander in the wilds of various continents and countries. People have reported seeing a Watch Tower walking in the Tussock Hills of Uphorn, yet at the same time, a Wtach Tower also in the Waywood Forest in Agwain, plus a Watch Tower in the Fuego Desert within the Pelago Islands.
Within the wooden walls each watch tower is identical as a whole as the others. Whether you take my word or not each tower has changed in slight but notable ways. They all have been traveling so long on different paths - touched by wind, worms and whacks. However, they only take little damage, even from the worst weather or walking under water, from one country to the next.
A walking watch tower does make many a kerfuffle and welter. A tower wandering into a village or town, does make things rather bizarre. It is hard for any watch tower to fit between walls even on wide roads. Mostly they wend within the wilderness and wilds.
When wet from the rain, the water washes downward on their walls, yet never wanders inside. Animals willingly wait inside those walls of wood. Symbiotic relationships with the Watch Towers and many small winged animals, who land on the tower roof and windowsills for a rest. When they fly off they take away any litter , abandoned foods or waste.
They move more slowly than a capybara, more like a tortoise or a giant sloth. Each wandering watch tower is wholly aware of its' surrounds and the wilder world in which they walk.
Word is when those wily and crafty people would wish to capture one of the wandering watch towers, they woefully find themselves caught in a wicked way. No matter how they whined and whinge, they will remain entrapped within those wooden walls.
If someone attempts to place any barrier of a wall, even before a wandering watch tower reaches it, with a whoosh the watch tower will wander off in an unexpected direction. The Wandering Watch Towers do not make a whirl or whispering sound. No r do they appear to have any feet, wheels or wires. They have a very tiny amount of room to the ground, that is barely discernible.
The towers meandering mean a person can easily step onto the steps. Wear woolens and hide to stay warm inside. The wooden walls are wide, as are the windows, letting the winds whip within.
Wisdom suggests whoever enters is rather unwise. Would you ratatatat on the wooden door? Who would be there, a weary wanderer, a wicked wizard, a wealthy warlord, a worried waif, a welcoming whore, or a white wraith?
The whiff of dying and dead lies within. With much witching magic within the wooden walls, what might become of you?
What if your were to be turned into a Worg with a wagging tail?
Will you be turned into a salty and sweet wafer biscuit?
Worse, will you switch with the Undead whose body is wrapped within a web?
When you sight the wonderfully whittled and woven wooden walking stick abandoned against the wooden wall, will the want and wish bring you to touch such a wonderous magical weapon? What if you dare too. Will you wear the wooden features with woes, or with mirth?
Where one maybe sighted a person can only guess, as they silently wander. Despite their size, none of the watch towers are easily spotted unless on Dragons' back.
Would you Wig-out, or keep your wits about you, if you were to spot a wandering Watch Tower walking towards you?
