Slate Scarrs

The Slate Scarrs is an old tribe with roots that are traceable back to ancient families that existed before the Jordbani. Located in Caledonia, the Scarrs came to prominence in Caledonia and the world when Desmond Slate took over the tribe, and led them to victory in the War of Tredeh. That seemingly unimportant gang war gave them control of the Headquarters of the Department of Patents and Intellectual Property. Desmond Slates clever and aggressive exploitation of the ancient technologies found in that building such as Riltraga drugs that relieve pain and address depression and hopelessness, and the Bjod Keipr a revolutionary mode of transport that requires no power source beyond the human body but allows the operator to move people and goods quickly in urban areas.

The control of the DPIP and the technologies has transformed the Slate Scarrs into an economic powerhouse in the city, and is having the effect of transforming the political scene across the continent as trade and with it peace, is becoming more widespread.

Whether the Slate Scarrs will be able to continue expanding their influence and maintain their control of the DPIP is to be seen. Desmond Slate is no less mortal than any human and is currently in his mid twenties, so the transfer of leadership to the next generation is likely to occur soon. The stability and progress made under Desmond Slate hangs in the balance, both within his own tribe, and across the continent.
