Monsallorea (mon-sal-or-AY-ah)

Monsallorea is a marvel, famed across Ereacia, and you can see why. The clear white rock rising above the sands which connect it to Sallorea-ci-Mar shines in the light of the sun, as pilgrims crowd to collect the many shells left upon the beaches below. The great Abbey church and resting place of Saint Lorea Wildfriend reaches out to the sky, a towering tree in full leaf visible through the clear glass of its magnificent dome in a verdant emerald hue. Below it, the Abbey and City sit, beckoning you onward to your destination.
The great Abbey of Monsallorea is one of the marvels of Ereacia. According to legend, Saint Lorea Wildfriend was led here by the sound of the sea itself, given to her by an angel as a sign that she would find rest from her travels. Monsallorea is a tidal peninsula, only accessible across a causeway at low tide. During the periodic Saint Lorea's Flood, the island floods entirely, but as soon as the tide falls, the island appears miraculously preserved. This is because during Saint Melora's Flood, Monsammelore acts as a passover into the Immortal Realms.   Monsammelore is not just the power centre for much of the Great Austral Delta, it is also a major destination of pilgrimage. The starting point of the ancient Way of Saints Lorea and Elisia, now the starting point of the Hespialic Way of Saint Elisia, many pilgrims start their journey to the Citadel of the Holy Mountain at this holy place. The community of monks founded after Saint Lorea's death is a large and rich community.
