Port Ivetta
Port Ivetta is a fishing village in Tiden a few days travel North North East of Arkenfort. It was the second settlement built by the Feyerwind House on the Aarak coastline.
Despite its age the village has seen little expansion due to most of its early population moving to Arkenfort or Zabalfreen. In the modern day it functions as a common rest-stop for travelers breaking up their trip between the two or for those taking the coastal path to or from Port Darcinia.
Demographics
Government
Port Ivetta has adopted the The Seasonal Pantheon as its primary focus of worship and is therefore run by a mayor ornate.
Defences
The village is protected from the denizens of the Lilting Wood by a gated wall to the North west. At any given time the port also harbors a military frigate for protection from raiders, both those who travel on the waves and those who live beneath. When raids from the latter are particularly frequent, normally in midsummer, the Ivettans will erect spiked barriers along the beach to deter larger raids.
A wall with a serpentine bottleneck has also been erected on the entrance to Port Ivetta via the southern road, as a response to troubles during The Insurrection of Arkenfort
Industry & Trade
Port Ivetta plays a vital role in the year-round food supply of Tiden through its fishing exports, including a monopoly in square-beaked squid and northern mullet.
Guilds and Factions
The village is protected from landborne threats by a loose militia guard, sometimes led by the The Shark Guard whose primary purpose is to stave off attacks from the Sahuagin.
Architecture
Most structures in Port Ivetta are built from bronzewood , harvested from Lilting Wood, although a few earlier buildings are constructed of Charwallian Thornwood and later buildings in the southern part of the village to sport Arkenstone marble walls.
Geography
The original village was kept safe from sea raiders by a steep hill that slopes upwards from the sea. Upon this hill is built the village meeting hall and the The Singing Fish. The rest of the village has expanded outwards from this approximately circular hill, with grassy plains to the East and the South.
Natural Resources
As well as plentiful fish, the farmland surrounding the village bring in a small variety of crops, as well as wool and mutton. A number of precious gems are sometimes found washed along the coast.
