Rennik Blackthorn
Every mercenary band has one: the smirking rogue who thinks he’s cleverer than everyone else. In Bravia, that role is filled by Rennik Blackthorn.
Rennik is a human rogue of the most irritating variety: arrogant, opportunistic, and utterly lacking in long-term planning. His philosophy is simple: if it isn’t nailed down, it’s his; if it is nailed down, it just requires better leverage.
He isn’t known for betraying his allies—not out of loyalty, mind you, but because he knows alliances are useful when you’re running burglary rings and smuggling rackets. If betrayal ever pays better, he’ll no doubt consider it.
Rennik doesn’t operate alone. He’s part of a disreputable trio. His two main companions are Grunk Ironhide and Mara Stonehammer. He also occasionally dealt with the smuggler Pen Ding.
Together, they’ve turned Bravia’s mercenary chaos into their own personal marketplace of vice.
After he, Grunk and the party managed to bust out Mara and escape the Aurorhaven authorities, Mara's fate almost made Rennik, Grunk and the party come to blows, mostly because of Grunk's need for vengeance (Mara had gone behind his back). Before they parted ways, Rennik gifted his chinqueda dagger to Ruffstrom, showing that perhaps there is a soft side to him.
