Derdia - Derdian Trooper Territory in Bravia
Flush with coin and desperate for some respite, the party continued on their way to the city of Derdia—the third largest in Bravia. They would surely be able to spend some of their hard earned gold and take a few days off adventuring in this neutral city. There was also enough to sell from their bag of holding.
The party situated in a luxurious inn, and went out perusing the shops as well as running a few other errants. Derdia had a few high-security magical shops, so the party let their coins flow liberally.
One night, in their inn, Zerkorn was awakened by a Tabaxi called Four Leaf Clover, who Zerkorn knew vaguely about from his time under the Company of the Marksmen. Four Leave was a Security Bureau agent, and strongly implored the party work for him and Elira Medacnan. He also revealed that he knew about Zerkorn's unique condition. Zerkorn seized an opportunity to escape his room, and a fight ensued in the hallway, alerting the others. it turned out that the tabaxi had not come alone, as the assassin Sylvaera ambushed Dimsum Gyoza and Hump Back Preacher in their room. After a tough fight, Sylvaera was caught and eventually apprehanded by the Derdian Authorities, but Four Leave bolted, persued into the night by Pen Ding and Zerkorn.
The foot chase took them through the city, but the tabaxi was too fast for them. However, Zerkorns keen eye saw a figure climb through the window of a house. The duo followed the figure in and confronted him, but it turned out to be someone else entirely: an old smuggler contact of Pen Ding's, called Erron Armir, who had resorted to petty thievery. The owner of the house had cast an unfortunate gaze upon the intruders, so Pen Ding ensured that he would remain silent forever with his sword.
The duo followed Erron to the hideout that was once part of the smuggling enterprise Pen Ding was part of, but had since been taken over by other criminals. On Erron's request, they cleared the house of the squatters and returned to their inn.
The party was questioned by the authorities, and the party told them about Medacnan's threat to Derdia. The guard commander shared their concern and allowed them to go free, but warned them not to take Bravia's greater conflict with them into Derdian lands. The next day, however, a group of Derdian Mercenaries tried to claim Medacnan's bounty on the party, but where bested in the ensuing street fight. After this, the party was forced to leave the city.
