Vishnu

Preservation, Protection & Balance

As a member of the Trimurti, Vishnu acts as the great preserver and protector of the universe and dharma. When the world is unbalanced, he incarnates into a human form or avatar in order to restore the balance between good and evil. Two of his most famous avatars are Krishna and Rama, protagonists in epic poetry, but more recently, Rylis are identified as Vishnu!

Overall, Vishnu is the preserver, protector, sustainer and guardian of the world Brahma (Luxis) creates, maintaining it until it is time for Shiva (Rylis) to destroy all. Together these three uphold the cyclical nature of reality alongside dharma. Vishnu's vahana is the bird king Garuda and his wife is Lakshmi (Ylithuum), the goddess of wealth and prosperity.

Depiction

Vishnu has blue skin and four arms, carying the Panchajanya, the Vaishnavastra, a lotus flower and a mace. He is also bedecked in jewelry, flower garlands and even wears a crown! The Panchajanya is a conch shell which heralds creation, the lotus flower stands for purity, beauty and liberation and the mace symbolizes his power and strength. Among astras -divine projectiles- Vishnu's is the most powerful! It is a weapon which can destroy almost anything and it can only be stopped by Vishnu himself.
