Sir Kellinas (a.k.a. The Poet, Kell)
Disclaimer:
Some of the things in this article will be written as if it is an in world article, so there's a lot of ambiguity. However, I want to write up all that I know/have established about his character, you should be able to tell the difference.
A strange man who has been spotted numerous times throughout all the empires, yet no one knows his origins. People have reported having seen him up to 75 years ago, though evidence in books or paintings suggest he's been around for longer.
He is a constant guest at the Haren balls after having become a contact with the Duke, yet while there, despite being roped into many conversations every time, he is more often found overlooking the proceedings from the balcony with his journal in hand.
He is never seen without this journal, and no one has ever seen it run out. Those lucky few to have heard him talk and the lesser number who've heard him talk about the book's content have described its interior to be
full of odd pictures and poems, some in languages even the top translators couldn't recognise - Duchess Advyn, 948-1012 ME
He is also seen as a myth, some people even doubting his existence entirely.
For more information on this, see this article:
Physical Description
He is known to always be wearing a tan hat with a magenta ribbon around it.
His journal. He never goes anywhere without it and is rumoured to have written everything down in it.
Mental characteristics
I'll keep it brief, you can see the timeline.
His mum died in childbirth, so he was just raised by his scientist father as he never remarried.
At the age of sixteen, Kell met Myra and they instantly clicked. Starting from their first date of a picnic in the forests surrounding Vulpya, they just worked together.
They stuck together through thick and thin, getting married after dating for 8 years (years of 8s are significant to them). It's a quiet thing, with only their respective parents and one or two friends witnessing it, but that's the way they like it.
Unfortunately, at the age of 28, Kell fell ill. It started out fine, just a bad cough, but soon turned worse, with him being unable to leave the house sometimes. Myra stayed with him through it all.
Due to being a scientist, a biology person, his dad was determined to find a cure for his only son and family left in the world. Four years later (there's the eight), he finally discovered a potential fix for this, however, it had an unforseen consequence, he became immortal (Don't ask me how it works).
Now, two things to mention about this. 1) His dad did not release this knowledge as he could forsee the bad consequences of an entire world of immortal people, so thought it best to not tell. 2) Myra convinced his dad to also make her immortal as she couldn't bare to cause him to lose her without needing to. His dad eventually agreed as he did not want his son to be immortal alone.
So he did, both Kell and Myra were now immortal, no longer able to age, only able to die by battle.
Sadly, Kell's dad passed away when Kell was 56 years old, still visually 32, from old age. He died peacefully, though, Kell was obviously devastated about this, as was Myra, and this lasted a while, but he got better.
He didn't get the standard education levels those nowadays got, but, due to his love of reading, he spent a good while self-teching himself as much as he could.
Once the university was built, he went in order to learn more, gaining a variety of "degrees" over the years.
Currently he has no job, as he's too well known among the empire leaders so feels he cannot work a normal job at the moment. Though, I guess you could count him being The Poet as a career.
He does have a moral compass, no harming kids, you know that stuff, however, he has no true loyalty to any one Empire or group. The only person he'll always be loyal to is the one woman most would never expect, his total opposite, The Periculier, also known as Myra. They have stuck together through everything, and will do forever, so no matter if they end up on opposite sides in a conflict, in the end they will always pick each other.
Personality Characteristics
Social
He will rarely talk to anyone by choice, mostly only by being dragged into conversations by Duke Malud, who seems to be the closest thing he has to a friend, at parties.
Has no specific view but as he's travelled the world over the years he's been introduced to a bunch of religions, even met a few gods, so its a mix of a lot.
He tends to fade into the background of conversations unless directly talking or being talked to.
Evidence suggests he either has currently or has owned a cat, based on his poem titled, The Cat.
He loves writing and drawing.
History
They first got together not long after first meeting. They were instantly perfect for each other.
They stood by each other through everything that came to them.
Kell supported Myra through the death of her parents. Myra supported Kell all through his intense illness, even becoming immortal, leaving her whole life behind, just because of her dedication to him.
They got married while Kell's dad was still alive, so they've been married for an extremely long time.
Nicknames & Petnames
Kell/Myra, though these are their actual (shortened) names, they are the only ones that use them anymore, so it counts.
Kell calls Myra love, Myra calls Kell dearest.
They also have petnames they've created in their own kind of sign language that they can subtly use when in the presence of others, these translate to the above petnames.
Shared Secrets
Immortality, any secrets shared to one by another Empire is shared with the other not long later.
Legal Status
They are married, but no one that knows it exists is around anymore.
