Caravan Masters

The Caravan Masters were founded by House of Aquilar, in the year 1002 during a tumultuous era when bandits, raiders, and desert nomads preyed relentlessly on the Sultanate’s trade caravans. Recognizing the lifeblood of commerce was at risk, the sultan decreed the creation of a military order devoted to safeguarding merchants and travelers.
Drawing recruits from veteran soldiers, washouts from the other military branches such as the Pheonix Bows or Lions Pride Spears nomadic trackers, and even repentant raiders if they are good enough. Known for their distinctive purple padded gambison armour, they patrol with carvans and merchant to guard against bandits and raiders. In dire situations they will also for larger groups to assult bandit camps in force if discovered.
Today, they have a large number of retired members, as each member is promised 30 acres of farmland in the Northern Steppe or Xander Plains when they complete 20 years of service.
Those in service can earn as much as 1 silver pieces per week.

Camel Masters
The most important caravan guards protect the spice road. There are 3 masters here. They report to the Loremaster at the Copernicus Collage and Library in Helenon.
Ore Masters
The trade routes across Belkar require metal, so the heavy oxen caravans need protection. There at 10 of these Ore Masters, each with 50 caravan guards.
Timberman
The Western Forests produce large planks for ship building. These merchant fleets are valuable enough to garner constant protection of the timber needed. There are 8 of these masters, commanding 25 soldiers each.
