Fir'yard Woodsong
Governor of Irodmere
Nephew to Marquess Islor and husband to Grand Marquess Del'Tarr, Fir'yard is a man doomed to live in the shadows of his family. His one and only claim to greatness is the prosperity of the city he governs, but even there, credit is largely given to his wife and her family. Despite his efforts to conceal it, his growing resentment is palpable. He does not, however, let his feeling get in the way of his duty. There is no doubt that Irodmere is a prosperous city and whether he is recognised for it or not, Fir'yard has done his part in bringing about that prosperity.

Personal history
Raised by the jealous brother of Marquess Islor, Fir'yard was taught statecraft from a young age. His father's overbearing nature and constant comparison to his well respected uncle succeeded in giving him a drive to achieve greatness, but also left him with disdain for the title of Marquess. He received as good an education as any noble, earning top marks from his many tutors. At the age of 100, he was betrothed to Alyanna Del'Tarr, under the assumption that it would be her brother who would take the throne of Grand Marquess.
When the former governor of Irodmere died of sudden illness, Fir'yard eagerly submitted his own candidacy. Whie he was more than qualified, it would be an endorsement from his uncle Daven that sealed his nomination. While bitter at the circumstances, Fir'yard was overjoyed that he would not be plagued by the title of Marquess. His joy would not last, however. Only a few years later, Armateth Del'Tarr announced that he would be renouncing his inheritance and Alyanna would inherit the throne instead.
There was little love between Fir'yard and Alyanna to begin with, their marriage was one of political dealing. But Alyanna's ascension to the throne would drive a greater wedge between them. As he grew more and more resentful, he became even more cold and distant even toward their children.

Mannerisms
At court and in professional settings, he can best be described as "stiff". He holds himself high while keeping his hands folded in front of him. In private though he is the exact opposite frequently flailing his hands and arms in exaggerated gestures.
