Dragon’s Venom

Cocktail inspired by the Green Dragon A bubbly green drink with a high ABV

Manufacturing process

Add ice to the highball glass and add all alcoholic ingredients. Stir well. Top with lemon lime soda. I’ll admit, thinking up this drink had me a little stumped at first. I knew I wanted it to use Midori because of the color, but beyond that I wasn’t sure. Considering all of the flavors that can contribute to a green drink, I almost went with a mint flavor. Instead, I saved that for the Frostbitten Peak (see below). I also considered absinthe as a base, but I wasn’t sure what to *do* with absinthe. Who knew crafting dragon cocktails would end up being so creatively difficult?   Flipping through existing cocktails, I remembered the Long Island Iced Tea. A poisonous concoction if there ever was one (that we’d still want to drink, of course!) That would be a perfect base for our Dragon’s Venom!   I figured Sprite would work better than Coke for this. Coke wouldn’t let the vivid green of the Midori shine through. In addition, while I could have left all of the liquor in the recipe, I decided to pull the rum from the list. The Midori would be sweet enough as it is.   This one is probably the easiest on our list to build. Fill a highball glass with ice and add all of the alcohol: the gin, vodka, tequila, triple sec, and Midori. Stir, and top with lemon lime soda.   Presentation I didn’t actually serve this one with a garnish. Not for any particular reason, beyond just… well, forgetting, honestly. That being said, most Long Island Iced Teas either use a lemon twist or wedge. For this variation, I would recommend a lime twist, but really any of these would work.
