Hill Dwarves

Hill Dwarves are the most common breed of Dwarves for the common person or traveler to encounter out and about in the world. These stout and jovial folk pride themselves on being merchants and travelers, exploring the world, many of their more reclusive or preoccupied kin would rather choose to avoid. Though, this does cause some tensions with their kin, it cannot be denied that on the backs of the Hill Dwarves have many many trade agreements been reached between consumers and their more tactile kin.

Beauty Ideals

Hill Dwarves keep their facial hair extremely short, or even shaved completely, opting instead to not conceal their lips behind lengthy or extravagant facial hair. Because of this, many people have mistaken Hill Dwarves for Halflings. Whether this was a strategy the Hill Dwarves anticipated or planned has not been confirmed.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

To their more agitatable kin, the Hill Dwarves have been dubbed "Fur Footed", harkening to their uncanny resemblance to Halflings when cleanly shaven. Hill Dwarves, in fact, do not have the iconic hairy feet most common to Halflings.
