Primordial
The Primordials were massive conceptual entities that stalked the featureless land that was the original Elgis. Each of them embodied some concept, idea, or physical thing, and with their existence brought that thing into existence. They inhabited the world in the Primal Age.
The Primordials came into being when shards of crystal glowing like stars fell to the earth, and the Primordials grew around them. One of the Primordials that rose amongst the wasteland embodied some novel concept of interweaved elements and molecules that worked in concert to produce a self-moving object -in other words, life. With its creation, inert objects suddenly began to skitter and fly and float and swim across the wasteland. Some of these objects began to develop consciousness, and subsequently agency. These became the Prime Gods, who destroyed the Primordials, as much as conceptual beings can be destroyed. The Prime Gods stole the hearts from their progenitors, their Divine Sparks, using them to gain their divinity. They then buried the Primordial's still-conscious remains deep beneath the earth.
