Dragon-king

Those carrying the legacies of the Dragon-gods, using their god-blooded powers to shape history. The title of Dragon-king is one given to those of the sentient species who have been inhabited by one of the six Dragon Gods. A type of Godling, the Dragon-kings have draconian features as the flesh of their god intersperses with their base forms. This intermixing comes with an increase in strength, senses, and boosted magical capabilities. Dragon-kings have abilities that have shaped the path of history, only some of which are their magical abilities. Those inhabited by the Dragon-gods can willingly draw more of their god into their bodies, rapidly replacing their flesh. This process is known as 'Channeling', and it is as dangerous as it is powerful. A Dragon-king engaging in channeling is being rapidly torn apart from the inside out, while their magic is boosted to such a strength that they become nearly insurmountable. If they survive this process, the Dragon-king will be permanently marked with more unnatural features. Among the other abilities, Dragon-kings are the only type of godling whose patron gods speak directly with them; usually presenting as a whispering voice that seems to come from everywhere and nowhere. While the minds of most godlings and their gods never combine, Dragon-kings and their Dragon-gods frequently bleed thoughts and instincts into each other. In their sleep, Dragon-kings oft are immersed in the experiences of their gods. As these intersections occur, the mortal begins to manifest habits of their patron: such as growling, hoarding objects of perceived value, or baring their teeth. The records of the Dragon-kings are certainly incomplete, mainly due to Dragon-king children often not surviving long. That said, some Dragon-gods have not inhabited as many hosts or took longer to master the technique than their contemporaries.
