Morninglord, Dawnfather, Lord of Birth and Renewal
The Morninglord is symbolized by the rising sun, but rather than being the god of the sun itself, he is the god of dawn, which represented the potential of a new day. A god of hope and beginnings, Lathander's name is invoked at the start of new endeavors, whether sealing a new deal, or setting out on a new journey
Connection to Aethel
It is national belief throughout Aethel that the Sovereign family is directly descended from Lathander. There are countless tales and legends of either Lathander himself or an avatar of Lathander coming to Elaxios to aid the people of Aethel in times of hardship.
One of the most prominent murals in the Grand Cathedral of Light in Mecklenberg is a depiction of Lathander (left) imbuing his power into the First Sovereign at her coronation, pictured below. The Staff of Light depicted here is still used as the symbol of the Sovereign's divine authority.
