by several thousand years. They have a wide-ranging belief for the origin of their people, stemming from their Proto-Deities, beings who came before their current pantheon. It is hotly debated whether these beings were true gods, primordials, power giant-like titans, or something else all together.

After this proto-pantheon came new deities, born of their flesh, springing into existence, or being born of each other. The pantheon includes numerous categories of deities, from the primary deities that make up the majority of the day-to-day worship in
that fill out other spots of the pantheon. Due to this massive size, it is common for an estaklian to find a primarily deity whom they feel a particular draw to and worship them daily, while praying to other deities in times of need. Most often, this primary deity is a hero-god whom they live among, and the power from their worship is funneled up to the true divinities. In some parts of Estaklyos, it is considered improper or even strictly sacrilegious to worship a true divinity directly, citing the insignificance of a normal mortal compared to the divine being. In these regions, it is mandatory to worship the hero-gods, who can then direct an individual's worship to the appropriate deities.
