APPEARANCE/PHENOTYPE
Aromatic mint-ally with square stems and opposite, softly textured leaves. Blades are ovate with entire to faintly crenate margins, 4–8 cm long, bright green, and slightly glossy. Plants branch freely from low nodes, forming neat clumps.   Terminal spikes carry small white to pale-lavender flowers, each with a short corolla and protruding stamens. Glands on leaves and calyces release a clean, resinous scent when brushed.
