Crown Ru Jieli

Ru Jieli (surname first, then first name) was born in spring of 139 into a successful merchant family in Keylara. She was primed to be the head of the family business when she won the Grand Testing in 162, at the age of 23, and is known for being a bold leader in foreign relations, commerce and growth in the Dom. Crown Jieli is the 4th Crown of the Dom of Raone, following Crown Brandt Flamesun and is the current Crown.    Almost immediately after being Crowned, the young Jieli had already visited and strengthened ties with the clans of the Forges and the Sehanine Elves with gifts and knowledge and returned from both trips with gifts and knowledge of maps in return. She also influenced the Councils to think about trading beyond their current knowledge of the world and expanding it. With a renewed sense of exploration, merchants, adventurers, and other Raonens traveled farther outside their valley than ever before. She focused on building relationships with the nation of Tavark, who's Jieli's mother was from, and the nation south the the Dead Marshes and east of the Mounds that many knew existed, but couldn't reach easily or safely. The road to the Draskons still is perilous, but with the recent Goblin War victory, and strengthened Fort of Lores, more are willing to dare the roads.   Some were concerned she prioritized her Tavark (human) ancestry over the needs of the Dom when she declared a formal alliance with the leadership of the rebels of Tavark as the rightful ruler, but it ended up being a fruitful decision as it not only created a powerful ally, but increased trade connections with other distant nations. Although the Leyvarr Guard that was sent over to Tavark were great in number, it still didn't deplete the Guard at home. More importantly, casualities were the lowest in any war that Raone had participated in. Although Raone's part in The Tavark War lasted 12 years, most of the work was accomplished in the first few years. While the rest was just acting as a stabilizing presence and training the new Tavark forces. Many of Crown Jieli's critics quieted after the first gifts arrived. Strong Tavark Iron and nickel from the mines and spices.   Today, Crown Ru Jieli is most known for expanding the Dom's horizons, increasing trade and stabilizing tense relationships with the Forges. Many are excited or nervous about what this means for the Dom's future.
