House Cannith

While many Dragonmarked Houses kept Patriarchs and Matriarchs as the top of their organizations House Cannith changed that idea long and is now led by a council.   They still have a House Patriarch but it is more of an honorable title.

House Canniths public opinion is quiet positive in 1999. With the creation of 'Prometheus' in recent years it seems that House Cannith has taken the lead as most influential House in Khorvaire.

House Cannith controls a majority of all factories and manufacturing in Khorvaire. While those are vast and many they do not amount to the following assets.   Prometheus - The equivalent of an advanced internet and the thing that connects all of Eberron. Along with it's features as a world wide web, Prometheus also acts as a manufactured plane that can be visited.   The Creation Forges - Even though the Creation Forges have been given over to the Warforged House Cannith is still the only ones who can maintain and keep the Forges updated.   The Clocktower - In the heart of Making rests House Canniths main compound and laboratories. It is here that they create the technology that revolutionize Eberron.

2,500 years ago the Mark of Making made its first appearances on the artisans and craftsmen of ancient Cyre. This soon led to the formulation of Clan Cannith and through their natural inventiveness and the ability of their marks they created their own jurisdictions within Cyre and central Khorvaire.   Since then House Cannith has played an important party in most major events in Khorvaire's history.   When the Last War broke out Cannith was ready to reap the benefits and found itself acting as an arms dealer to all nations. They managed to amass a great fortune of wealth that was is only outdone by House Kundarak. They also gained something more valuable than money: political power. The Five Nations became so reliant on Cannith weapons to the point House Cannith was able to influence their decisions thus becoming the most politically powerful Dragonmarked House   Simply selling weapons and armour was about to end when the first warforged soldiers marched out of Cannith's forgehold in 965 YK at Whitehearth and Cannith then began supplying not only weapons but the soldiers that wielded them. House Cannith was believed to be the most powerful Dragonmarked House but on the Day of Mourning in 994 YK they were dealt a severe blow that cost them greatly. On that same day they didn't just lose the Whitehearth forgehold and its wealth, knowledge, resources and inhabitants but their leader Baron Starrin d'Cannith and many of the House's heirs.   After the war House Cannith attempted to gain popularity once again but it wouldn't be until after the Year Of The Long Dark and Leon d'Cannith emerging as the face of House Cannith that the house began to repair it's reputation.   With Leon leading House Cannith the house was incredibly helpful in the rebuilding of the destroyed nation of Thrane and Khorvaire. With their reputation gained House Cannith began to make a comeback and entered the general populations zeitgeist once again.
