Prometheus is regarded as the most influential technology ever created in the realm of Eberron. What was started as a way to connect the world and to store information has warped and changed Eberron at it's core. Now people use Prometheus not only to search for information and connect with others around the globe but they use it for everything they do within the world.

Information Sharing, Data, Banking, Communication and Entertainment.
Prometheus is able to be accessed by every sentient being in Eberron. Be it just as a simple search engine or a place to escape to.
While many use Prometheus as the equivalent of the internet in Eberron some choose to make it their virtual paradise. To access the actual artificial plane of Prometheus a user must either head to a Cannith Prometheus Cafe or use underground or back-end terminals to enter the artificial plane.
Complexity
The inner-workings of Prometheus are a tight held secret that only select members of House Cannith are aware of. Many have tried to replicate Prometheus but all have failed.
Discovery
Prometheus was created at The Clocktower in the year 1825 YK. House Cannith created it as a way to connect Eberron and to make the information of the world accessible to all.
