Solastra
Flame of the Sky Solastra (a.k.a. Hammer of the Host, The Thunderheart)
Creation and Role
Solastra was created alongside Maccius, Nilsa, Astrea, and Leander as part of the original angelic host forged by Xelene and Randia in 19992 BCE. She was the strongest physically among the five, embodying divine wrath, storm-wielding fury, and the unyielding fire of justice.
If Astrea was the light of truth and Leander the calm of dawn, Solastra was the storm that followed betrayal. She was forged from sunfire and thunder, created to shatter infernal constructs, break open cursed fortresses, and lead charges against even the most impenetrable defenses.
Though intimidating in battle, she was known among mortals and fellow angels for her warmth. Solastra laughed easily, loved deeply, and never allowed despair to linger. She was, in many ways, the emotional core of the host - until she too vanished.
Role in the Wars
First War (19990 – 19984 BCE)
Solastra was the battering ram of the divine front. When Celian’s forces hid behind walls of stone and spells, Solastra answered with her hammer, Skybreaker, cleaving through with the fury of a divine storm. She shattered cursed altars, sundered demon pacts, and led mortals through fire with her blazing wings alight.
She fought beside Astrea until the very end. When Astrea fell, Solastra screamed loud enough to crack the towers of Viremalas. It took four angels to hold her back from flying alone into the city to retrieve Astrea’s chained body.
Second War (19924 – 19893 BCE)
In the Second War, Solastra fought with a new purpose. She carried the Divine Sigils of Randia, etched into her hammer and armor. They gave her the ability to shatter infernal wards and break soul-bindings with a single strike.
She was part of the team that rescued Nilsa from Sarr’vasen, though she never forgave herself for not noticing the change in her comrade. As Nilsa grew more unstable, Solastra grew quieter - her once-burning spirit dimmed by doubt.
Third War (19885 – 19876 BCE)
In the final war, Solastra fought harder than ever. She led the charge through storm and flame, liberating half a dozen strongholds singlehandedly. It is said that during the Siege of the Ember Fortress, she descended from the sky like a meteor, striking down three demon commanders with a single blow.
But after Nilsa’s betrayal - after Maccius fell - Solastra was last seen holding back a wave of demons to allow Leander and the survivors to retreat. Her body was never recovered. Her hammer was never found.
Some say she was killed. Others whisper she was captured - and sealed beneath Kael’Dun, her divine power bound and used to fuel Celian’s dark rituals.
Fighting Style and Abilities
Solastra fought with Skybreaker, a warhammer imbued with the raw power of the sun and sky. It could:
- deal explosive radiant and thunder damage
- dispel magical fortifications
- break demonic bindings and enchantments
- cause localized storms, summoned by her fury alone
Her wings left blazing trails across the sky, and her arrival on the battlefield often turned the tide of entire wars. She was, without question, the single most destructive force among the angels.
Yet she never lost herself to rage - until the day she lost everything.
Legacy and Symbolism
Among the angels, Solastra is remembered as the flame that should never have gone out. She represents righteous wrath, protection through power, and the strength to stand even when all others fall.
In the modern era, her name is evoked in battle prayers, and her disappearance is used to teach that even the brightest fire can be stolen - but never truly extinguished.
Some say her hammer still lies buried in the depths of Kael’Dun - waiting for a warrior worthy enough to lift it and carry her fire into the next age.
“When the sky fell silent, we knew she had not died. We knew she had been taken.” – Unknown survivor, Third War
