Tuetoenia (Tu-Toe-Ni-a)

The Twilight Kingdom

In the rolling hills of Tuetoenia, the air was filled with the sounds of clanging metal and the rhythm of marching feet. A group of soldiers, dressed in the traditional red and gold of the Tuetoenian army, were practicing their drills in preparation for the upcoming war with their neighboring country. As the sun began to set, the soldiers finished their training and headed back to their barracks. Among them was a young recruit named Eri, who had recently joined the army in the hopes of making a name for himself and providing for his family.   As Eri made his way back to his bunk, he was approached by a grizzled veteran who had seen his fair share of battles. The veteran clapped Eri on the shoulder and said, "You did well today, lad. But don't forget, war is not just about strength and skill. It's about strategy, tactics, and most importantly, heart."   With those words ringing in his ears, Eri settled down for the night, dreaming of glory and honor on the battlefield. But as he drifted off to sleep, he couldn't help but wonder if he had what it took to be a true hero of Tuetoenia.

Tuetoenia is a country located on the southern and eastern parts of the continent of Sorashana in the world of Eastrix. It is known for its enigmatic Druids of the Witched, who possess secret knowledge of extending life. The country was founded by Gustaf Beowulf after winning a war against Prouzzyia, which led to its abolition and the establishment of Tuetoenia. Its capital was Castle Rabenloft, but currently, Ludwig Strahd von Zarovich rules from an unknown location. Tuetoenia has a long history of political games and intrigue, and currently, the former ruler, Gustaf, has fallen ill, leading to concerns over the country's future.

Structure

At the top of the country is Kaiser Gustaf, who serves as the supreme ruler without any checks and balances. Gustaf makes all major decisions and has complete control over the country. Beneath him are various advisors of different types who help Gustaf in making important decisions. These advisors hold significant influence and power within the Tuetoenian government.
Below the advisors and the Kaiser are the Burgomasters, who hold no power over the advisors or the Kaiser. Their sole responsibility is to maintain the safety and security of the villages in Tuetoenia. These villages include Kresten, Valken Stadt, Sarlichen, and Barakken. Overall, the organizational structure of Tuetoenia is highly centralized, with power concentrated in the hands of the Kaiser and his advisors. The Burgomasters have limited authority and serve as local administrators, rather than political leaders.

Culture

Tuetoenia is a rebellious and fiercely independent nation, with a deep-seated resentment towards Gretognia. The people of Tuetoenia are proud and unyielding, fiercely protective of their freedom and sovereignty. They have a strong tradition of rebellion against authority and a deep-seated belief in their right to self-determination. The Tuetoenians have little respect for the Druids of the Witched, seeing them as backward and superstitious. They view the druids' pursuit of secret knowledge as a waste of time, and their focus on death and the afterlife as morbid and macabre. Despite this, they do acknowledge the power that the Druids of the Witched hold, and often seek to use this power to their advantage. Tuetoenians are generally accepting of other races, as they have a history of working with other nations and races, especially through their involvement with the Pride Kingdoms coalition. They see strength in diversity, and recognize that a united front against their common enemies is the best way to achieve their goals. Overall, Tuetoenian culture is one of rebellion, independence, and acceptance of diversity, with a focus on overthrowing Gretognia and achieving their own sovereignty.

Public Agenda

Tuetoenia's public agenda is focused on advancing the power and influence of the country, both domestically and abroad. There is a deep-seated resentment towards the Druids of the Witched, who are seen as a symbol of traditional power and authority that Tuetoenia seeks to challenge and subvert. Kaiser Gustaf's personal animosity towards his brother, Gretonn Beowulf, has also fueled a desire to overthrow Gretognia and assert Tuetoenia's dominance over the continent of Sorashana. At the same time, Tuetoenia is committed to promoting a sense of inclusivity and acceptance towards other races, particularly those who are part of the Pride Kingdoms coalition. This stance is seen as a strategic move to build alliances and expand Tuetoenia's influence in the region. Overall, Tuetoenia seeks to establish itself as a powerful, independent nation with its own unique culture and values, while challenging the traditional power structures and norms that have governed the continent for generations.

History

Tuetoenia's history dates back to the Imbalanced Epoch, specifically in the year 372, when it was founded by Kaiser Gustaf Theodoric. Under his leadership, the country prospered and expanded its borders, eventually encompassing the cities of Sarlichen, Valken Stadt, Kresten, and Gjosten. However, tension arose between Kaiser Gustaf and his brother Gretonn Beowulf, which eventually led to a schism in the family. Gretonn, who was a powerful druid, refused to use his powers to extend Gustaf's life, which led to Gustaf's anger towards the druids and his desire to overthrow the Druidic Order.   During this time, Tuetoenia became highly rebellious and focused on overthrowing Gretognia, the neighboring country that was seen as a common enemy. Tuetoenia formed an alliance with the Pride Kingdoms Coalition, which further fueled its rebellious spirit.   Despite facing many challenges and conflicts, Tuetoenia continued to thrive under the absolute monarchy of Kaiser Gustaf, with the Burgomasters maintaining order and safety in the villages. Tuetoenia's culture also evolved, with a focus on freedom and independence, as well as a deep respect for other races due to its involvement with the Pride Kingdoms Coalition.

Disbandment

The disbandment of Tuetoenia, the powerful and influential nation, was a significant event that reverberated throughout the realm. The catalyst for this momentous change was the untimely demise of Gustaf, the charismatic and revered leader of Tuetoenia. His death sent shockwaves through the kingdom, leaving a void of power and leadership in its wake.   In the wake of Gustaf's passing, a power struggle ensued among Tuetoenia's elite. Among the contenders was Ludwig Strahd Von Zarovich, a formidable and cunning individual whose lineage traced back to the once-great nation of Prouzzyia. With his cunning political maneuvers and strategic alliances, Ludwig eventually ascended to a position of dominance and took control of Tuetoenia.   However, Ludwig's reign was marked by a deep sense of loyalty to his Prouzzyian roots. Recognizing the historical connection between Tuetoenia and the occupation of Prouzzyia by Gustaf's forces, Ludwig made the momentous decision to disband Tuetoenia entirely. In its place, he established Prouzzyia, a new nation that aimed to honor and revive the ancient traditions and heritage of his ancestors.   This decision was met with a mix of shock, confusion, and even resistance from the people of Tuetoenia. The disbandment of their beloved nation, with its rich history and cultural identity, created a sense of loss and uncertainty among the populace. However, Ludwig's vision for a unified Prouzzyia, combining the best of Tuetoenia's governance and Prouzzyian heritage, offered a glimmer of hope for a prosperous future.   The transition from Tuetoenia to Prouzzyia was not without challenges. The integration of the two nations' systems, customs, and traditions proved to be a complex task. Yet, under Ludwig's firm hand and strategic leadership, Prouzzyia began to emerge as a united and powerful force, harnessing the strengths of both Tuetoenia and Prouzzyia.   The disbandment of Tuetoenia and the birth of Prouzzyia marked a significant turning point in the region's history. It signaled the end of an era and the rise of a new order, one that sought to honor its origins while forging a path towards a bright and prosperous future under Ludwig's rule.

Demography and Population

Tuetoenia has a diverse population, with humans being the most numerous and dominant group. However, the country also has a significant population of Vistani folk, who are a nomadic people that travel throughout the land and are known for their unique culture and customs. These Vistani are not officially citizens of Tuetoenia, but are often welcomed and given permission to stay for a certain period of time. In addition to the human and Vistani population, Tuetoenia also has a small population of dwarves and elves, who mostly keep to themselves in their respective communities. The population is concentrated in the villages of Kresten, Valken Stadt, Sarlichen, and Barakken, with Castle Rabenloft being the only significant population center. The population of Tuetoenia is relatively small compared to other countries in the region, but it is diverse and includes a large number of visitors and travelers passing through the country. This gives the country a unique and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Religion

he current deities worshipped in Tuetoenia are fairly limited, as the country is not particularly religious. However, many of the denizens who lived in the country before Tuetoenia still pray to the same two prominent gods: Tali and Kozhracarn. Tali, also known as the Sun Mother, is the god of blossoms and one of the ten main gods within the entirety of Eastrix. Tali is part of the gods of creation, and is often depicted as a kind and nurturing deity. She is associated with the sun, and is said to bring light and warmth to the world. Kozhracarn, also known as Father Night, is the god of decay and one of the ten main gods within the entirety of Eastrix. Kozhracarn is part of the gods of destruction, and is often depicted as a dark and malevolent deity. He is associated with the night, and is said to bring death and decay to the world. He is also considered to be Tali's counterpart and direct opposite. It should be noted that while many Tuetoenians pray faintly to Tomarin the True, he is not widely worshipped within the country.

Foreign Relations

The relations between Tuetoenia and Gretognia and Bretonn remain distant and possibly strained due to their shared history and familial ties. Tuetoenia may also have some resentment towards the other countries for their lack of support during the conflict with the Undertow Union. As for the former members of the Pride Kingdoms Coalition, Tenarius' decision to back out and help end the war peacefully may have caused some tension with the remaining members, especially considering the controversial circumstances surrounding Accordia's defeat. Khazadthur's disappearance during this time may also lead to speculation and uncertainty about their current stance towards Tuetoenia and the other countries. Overall, Tuetoenia may feel somewhat isolated and vulnerable in the aftermath of the conflict and the dissolution of the Pride Kingdoms Coalition, with potentially complicated relationships with its neighboring countries and former allies.
