Congealed Malice

Congealed Malice is a sinister, lethal and corrosive form of condensed spiritual dyne that forms in the presence of unquestioningly evil beings.   It manifests as a thick, viscous fluid that seems to ooze out from empty space itself as it condenses from the wicked spiritual aura of the being it comes from. The substance then spreads with a will of its own, derived from the twisted mind of the being creating it, seeking out living things to kill.   It spreads across surfaces, penetrating into them and infiltrating deep. It forms ropes, tendrils and other structures as it attempts to reach across gaps and traverse terrain. It sprays itself across the landscape, creating rolling black clouds of virulent mist, and can even spread through the vacuum of space in such a form. It relentlessly tracks and chases down life, and anything ensnared or enveloped is excruciatingly consumed by it, with the victim’s body and soul broken down and assimilated into more Congealed Malice.   Inanimate objects are also affected by its erosive touch. They appear to rapidly age, weather and corrode, eventually suffering catastrophic damage through sustained contact with Congealed Malice. Energy shields and other non-physical barriers can’t provide any protection in stopping it, as they can’t block spiritual phenomena. The only exceptions are barriers created through the manipulation of space-time itself, such as anti-gravitating barriers. These can either entrap Congealed Malice or push it away.   Psikinetics can’t offer any protection either, as psikinetics is purely the manipulation of the fundamental particles, fields and space-time geometry of the universe. It has no mechanism for the direct manipulation of spiritual dyne, which sits outside the physical realm. As this is the case, it can’t interact with Congealed Malice.   As it’s a spiritual phenomenon, it must ultimately be confronted with spiritual power. The presence of a spiritual aura with greater or equal power to the malevolent aura creating the Congealed Malice can push it back or destroy it. This is unfortunately the only way to reliably combat it.   In theory, a malevolent being only in possession of the ousia of Theosis could have its Congealed Malice destroyed by the ousia of Iconoclasm, even if they had a stronger spiritual aura than the person using Iconoclasm. The circumstances for this to be witnessed have never arisen however. The primary source of Congealed Malice, the Nadrakians of the Ninth Caste, all possess traces of the Iconoclastic ousia from Archnadrakian Balaine and therefore can switch their auras from Theosis to Iconoclasm, thereby avoiding obliteration by it. As divine entities however, they’re still vulnerable to Iconoclasm, meaning that Iconoclastic spiritual power is a secondary way of combating Congealed Malice produced by Nadrakians.   Congealed Malice, like all spiritual auras, will vanish once the being creating it has been destroyed.

Unquestioningly Evil

‘Unquestioningly Evil’ is the term given to a being capable of manifesting Congealed Malice, for there can be no doubt that any being manifesting it is evil.   It requires a combination of evil acts perpetrated, along with the desire and intention to commit more evil acts. The type of evil act resulting in a soul corrupting to the extent where it manifests Congealed Malice is one where suffering occurs on a massive and depraved scale. One murder alone won’t create Congealed Malice. It requires large scale, or the intention to commit murder on a large scale. But even wiping out the population of a planet instantly will not do it, as there’s no suffering in quick death. This is the second requirement for Congealed Malice to form: the deaths must involve suffering.   Nadrakians of the Ninth Caste are known to create Congealed Malice around them. To give an understanding of what kind of entities they are, and what kind of entity creates Congealed Malice, they are said to enjoy the sensation of pushing their fingers into people’s eyesockets, slowly pulling them apart limb from limb, skinning people alive, and tearing them into pieces of shredded meat. They get enraged when their victims refuse to scream, because they don’t get the rush of ecstasy when they finally break someone. When people don’t run in fear, they are denied the feeling of complete dominance, for they love the cacophony of panic that signifies the end of organised civilisation when they arrive upon a world. The sight of great cities falling to the ground fills them with giggling amusement as they watch people falling to their deaths. Turning back the clock on a civilisation, obliterating all its progress, subjecting its inhabitants to worsening living conditions until they die, fills them with satisfaction. They view everyone as less than insects, and kill with a mixture of insatiable curiosity, addictive ecstasy and arousal, and unattainable satisfaction. As they’re the inverse of the old Nadrakians, they feel a constant anxiety that there’s someone alive in the universe that isn’t suffering or suffering enough.   Balaine, after starting the Blood Harvest and wiping out almost all the old Nadrakians, immediately began emanating Congealed Malice. Balaine then used it to wipe out countless civilisations, including all the great civilisations except Rodinia, and nearly succeeded in wiping out the Rodinians with it too by submerging Rodinia beneath it for years.   Succumbing to Congealed Malice is considered one of the worst deaths imaginable, and due to the threat it poses to living things, Rodinians are under standing orders to destroy anyone or anything creating it. Generating Congealed Malice is considered evidence of guilt for horrendous crimes committed at scale, or about to be committed.

Only the golden tips of Rodinia's Mycaurum are visible. This ocean of Congealed Malice is larger than the Sun, Sol, in size.
