Magic Flourishes in the Savage Isles

With the plague slowly spreading and no stopping in sight some of the aristocrats of the Savage Isles began looking for a cure through magic. Eventually, a group of kitsune successfully discovered a spell capable of curing the plague.

Traditionally magic had been seen as a field of study exclusive to long-lived races. It generally took several hundred years to learn anything useful and elves, who were the masters of this magic were generally not keen on sharing what they knew.   While some short-lived races had some magical talent garnered through their bloodline, this generally only allowed them to cast a few basic spells and never of their own choosing. Therefore when the nobles started funding magical research many ridiculed it.   It would take almost 3 generations of researchers to finally be able to teach a single spell, which many kitsune naturally are born able to use, to an anadi. After this research picked up pace and gathered much more funding. Only 50 years after the anadi learned the first spell, was a spell developed that was able to cure the plague.
